Location : El Segundo, CA 90245 The Quality Engineer will support product design and development activities from concept through product launch, with a focus on product quality, safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. The role works closely with design, engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and quality teams to review product concepts, develop specifications and standards, assess risks, investigate quality issues, and support corrective actions. The position will support global product development and manufacturing activities across multiple product lines.

Job Responsibilities:

  •  Participate in product concept and design reviews to provide input on safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and customer expectations
  •  Support product development activities from initial concept through product launch
  •  Develop and update design, engineering, and manufacturing standards based on consumer insights and engineering principles
  •  Interpret and communicate applicable product regulatory requirements
  •  Assess product risks related to safety, quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance
  •  Author product specifications covering performance, safety, and quality requirements
  •  Manage product quality and safety issues across multiple products and international teams
  •  Analyze product defects and conduct root cause analysis for quality and safety issues
  •  Recommend corrective actions and support manufacturing partners with implementation
  •  Collaborate with international quality and manufacturing teams during pre-production activities and product development
  •  Support investigation and resolution of post-production and field quality issues
  •  Research and support new business categories, product concepts, and innovative products
  •  Apply quality assurance and quality management principles throughout product development
  •  Utilize Six Sigma and other quality improvement methodologies to support problem solving
  •  Apply DFMEA, PFMEA, statistical analysis, and risk analysis techniques
  •  Review and analyze product designs using digital modeling and engineering tools
  •  Lead and manage cross-functional projects with organizational and departmental impact
  •  Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to analyze data and support business decisions
  •  Provide technical training and mentoring to junior-level engineers as required
  •  Support manufacturing processes including plastic molding, metal forming, electronic assembly, sewing, and product assembly
  •  Work with global teams and manage quality activities across different international time zones
  •  Travel periodically to manufacturing facilities and product development locations as required
  •  Perform additional quality engineering and product development activities as assigned
